Who doesn’t want to get out the door as quickly as possible, looking as put-together as possible? At least that’s my goal! Here are some of the best investments I’ve made in personal care that have been game-changers for me while getting ready for the day AND for traveling!
Laser Hair Removal
Just do it. This personal care hack is a game-changer! This has been one of the biggest changes to my routine. It’s almost stupid how much time it’s saved me!
Pros: First, the obvious – no more shaving! Therefore, buying razors/shaving creams and razor burn are things of the past. My skin is softer and smoother. Ingrown hairs are non-existent. Less time in the shower. Ability to go to the pool without a day’s notice… I could go ON and ON!
Cons: $$$ and can be a little painful.
Bonus Tip: Lidocaine is your friend – especially for laser treatments on the face and bikini area! So slather on a THICK layer 2 hours before your treatment, cover with saran wrap, and celebrate the numbness/less painful laser experience!
Microblading / 3D Eyebrow
Listen. There is no time for filling in my wacky eyebrows every day. Maybe you have good brows naturally, but I certainly struggle.
Pros: I completely underestimated how much better brows could make your entire face look, but holy cow do they ever! It’s also a total time saver. I didn’t realize how much time I was spending filling my brows in (badly!) every day.
Bonus Tip: BE PICKY!! Describe to your artist exactly what you want. So share LOTS of pics, and be sure you’ve studied pics of their previous work!
Brazilian Blowout / Hair Smoothing Treatment
If your hair is a mix of naturally wavy, curly, straight, and/or unruly that HAS to be blown out daily (along with curled and/or straightened) like me, GET A SMOOTHING TREATMENT.
Pros: Hair looks smooth and shiny always. Arm isn’t sore from drying/styling daily. Hair is healthier thanks to less daily heat styling. Fewer shampoo days. As a result, decreased time getting ready!
Cons: $$. Doesn’t last very long. Chemicals. Could change hair’s ability to hold curl/wave.
Bonus Tip: Preschedule your appointments. I’m not one to commit to things like this in advance, but trust me. You want this on the books before you NEED it, so you don’t have a crazy hair lapse.
